MapWorks Mining is AutoCAD® based mine surveying software for the 21st century. It takes advantages of the advancements (such as dynamic blocks and fields) made in recent versions of AutoCAD for a more intelligent drawing with less objects. Every function was carefully designed to drastically reduce time over existing methods, so you can get more done in less time!
Fast Entry Dialogs:
We designed the data entry dialogs to be as fast as possible to combine speed (like command line entry) with editing ability. You can quickly type in numbers from the number pad using the enter key to navigate to the next field. Unlike the command prompt, in the event of a mistake you can simply back up and change the error and move on.
Intelligent Symbols:
The software makes heavy use of the dynamic blocks in AutoCAD. Simply clicking a symbol at the command prompt brings up special dynamic grips that allow changes without the need to hunt for a command. For example you can change a proposed stopping to existing with a mandoor in three clicks (no keystrokes). Move and rotate annotations quickly without any commands!
Projections: |
Generates underground projection lines, pillars, ventilation, stoppings and more. Specify the airflow for each entry, designate stopping rows and escapeways in an easy to use grid. Fine tune the results with dozens of parameters that are saved for the next session. |
Spads: |
The placement dialog was designed for flexibility and efficiency. It can be setup for any angle type (azimuth, angle right, etc) and options to use slope angle or horizontal distances. Instrument/Rod prompting can be turned on/off and all settings are stored for the next session. Raw data entered is stored on the insert allowing for edit and reprocessing! After placement you can adjust the annotation placement and rotation, flip the label to the other side of the spad and more without even issuing a command. |
Offsets: |
Setup the offset line with begin/ending points or begin point and direction. Then simply enter the distance on line and left/right offsets. After completing the offsets at a distance the prompting moves back to let you enter a new distance, etc. This makes for the absolute minimum prompting for this frequently used process. |
Edit/Process: |
Spads and even offsets store the raw data on the symbol to allow you make changes and reprocess. For example if you discover you entered a spad distance wrong, you can change the distance and reprocess which moves the spads and all offsets that referenced it! |
| |
Pillar Connect: |
No need to play connect the dots all day. Simply supply a few parameters and within seconds all your pillars are connected and placed in the designated layer. |
| |
Perimeters: |
This unique perimeter drag process is the fastest way to connect up the mined perimeter. You simply pick once at the starting point then drag in the direction you want to go. As you approach perimeter points they are connected automatically, dozens of points along a rib can be connected in one second. When you near the end simply pick to stop the drag and the routine will detect the previous face and trace its way back automatically. |
Tonnage: |
Generates a detailed tonnage report from perimeters, pillars, and sections by simply windowing the layered geometry. Creates a hatch to visually confirm the mined area and compares the hatch area to the calculated area. Also allows an area to be subdivided by property owner by simply referencing the boundary layer and selecting it's polylines. |
| |
Benchmarks: |
An additional annotation to certain spads. Simply pick the spad and enter an elevation. The spad number and elevation in the annotation are AutoCAD fields, if the source is changed the annotation updates on the next regen. |
| |
Bottom Elevs: |
Simply pick the location and enter an elevation. The elevation is a field so if the elevation changes, the annotation updates on the next regen. |
Check Survey: |
Used to enter control survey data to adjust spads and designate as control spads. |
| |
Chamfer Edges: |
Chamfers the edges of selected polylines for a smoother appearance. |
Section Place: |
Place new coal sections in the drawing. Since many sections are similar it retains the content after placement allowing you to simply change a few numbers and place another. |
Section Export: |
Exports the consolidated thickness values from sections to comma separated ascii files. Creates multiple files, one for each unit code used in the sections. |
Object Edit: |
Provides a single point for editing the advanced symbols. Simply open the object for editing, make desired changes and save. Changes display immediately in the drawing. |
Object Convert: |
Allows you to convert spads, coal sections and more from existing systems to our dynamic blocks. Preserves the appearance including annotation positions and more. |
Symbols: |
The resizable symbol manager floats on the screen or can be docked. The symbol previews can be displayed at full thumbnail size or scaled at a percentage to maximize screen space. Simply double click to begin the inserting of a mining symbol. |
